Derwent Inktense and Watercolour Horse

Play time again - really, approaching art as play is so much more rewarding than viewing it as a performance to be rated. I'm loving the process of experiencing media and techniques that are new to me. At the same time, I'm exploring media that I haven't played in on a regular basis for a long while, namely watercolour.

In addition to traditional tube or pan watercolours, I've acquired a couple of other water media products: Derwent Inktense pencils (which are a water soluble ink in "coloured pencil" format) and Caran d'Ache water soluble wax pastels.  I know other artists use these in combinations that push each product a little or a lot. Well, now I'll have a go at it!

Horse close-up in watercolour on Ampersand Aquabord; I used the Derwent Inktense pencil to establish the eye contours before proceeding with watercolour washes, as the bord needs thorough wetting prior to starting to paint and I expected the ink to be permanent - which it is.
