Equestrian Style: Bringing It Home

I think the passion for horses becomes a lifestyle choice in ways that many other things don't often match. Whether one is competitive in a certain discipline, or their focus is as much on the horse himself as any activity you can do with him, horse people like to surround themselves with horse things.

There are the inevitable items of tack and grooming that find their way into the home. Bridles, halters, saddles and more... Surplus blankets and tack waiting to be cleaned before heading back to the tack room at the barn. Boots, standing by the door and waiting the next adventure. Riding clothes, like show jackets, hanging with pride and care in their closet or t-shirts and pants piled in the corner waiting their turn in the laundry.

It's an invasive lifestyle. And more pleasurable as a result. The equestrian  lives within a world governed by the overarching passion for an animal that is nearly larger than life, whose mere presence inspires them to reach outside their own comparatively small physicality to become part of something much greater. Celebrating this partnership in their surroundings and apparel in various forms brings a satisfaction and joy only matched by being with horses themselves.

As an artist, horses have featured in much of my work. Commissions of portraits for collectors have been an honour to create. One thing I've found is that there are more than walls to adorn with equine art. A conversation piece in the form of a custom decor pillow, throw blanket or even tshirts are fun ways to incorporate expressions equestrian passions. I've been excited to be able to offer high quality pieces custom printed with my own art that are then cut and sewn into unique items for home or apparel. My pieces are custom made in Canada or the US when ordered, not shipped in from overseas at this time. I'm working to keep it that way.
