I had a canvas that had previously been scribbled on a bit with Caran D'Ache Neocolor II watersoluble wax crayons and then washed off, leaving colourful translucent stains.
So, I decided to use the Inktense pencils over the staining, you know, just to see what would happen.
Now, not all of the pencil has been dissolved at this point - I don't think I can do it without washing it out too much - so the end result will need a few coats of sealant to ensure permanence. However, I think the results are pretty cool.
I ventured into something a little new, in terms of colour too. Keeping them translucent, bright and a little unreal. Somehow, they just hit the spot. I was massively inspired by artist Emily Jeffords, who I stumbled across and have found I need a regular dose of her artwork. Definitely worth checking out!
I wasn't sure what I'd end up doing with it until I started playing with the Derwent Inktense pencils the other day.
